Powers of Kin was a large-scale projection presented at the cinesphere at Ontario Place that explored the idea of the the Anthropocene -- our current geological age where human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and the environment -- and how we might reflect on it from perspectives other than our own.
As Donna Haraway notes, “The Anthropocene marks severe discontinuities; what comes after will not be like what came before.
I think our job is to make the Anthropocene as short/thin as possible and to cultivate with each other in every way imaginable epochs to come that can replenish refuge.”
