What is Artificial Intelligence (AI), exactly? There has been a contemporary surge in market investment in AI technology, with far-reaching social implications both promising and dangerous. How can artists and designers respond to the risks of marginalization that algorithms can pose if their biases are left unchecked and unscrutinized?

In this introductory workshop, participants will use simple Machine Learning tools to train their own creative algorithms, along with understanding how to misuse, subvert and disrupt existing ones. No coding experience required.

• Use Google Colab/Seedbank to explore, modify and edit existing algorithms
• Create visual, text and auditory experiences with AI
• Understand AI in the context of a critical art and design practice
